Most of the ride was fairly simple: it started out with a nice paved path, which never causes flats. Then it turned to hard-packed dirt. Then to a stone road — for a while about an 8% grade, I'd say. A slow, painful, bone-jarring ride, in other words

The plan was that Kinga would go to mass at a small chapel in the valley. I was planning on sitting in said vally and enjoy the views, perhaps read a little. Two problems with that: first, I forgot to bring a book (the horror!); second, the masses don't begin until the first of June.

So we simply went to the shelter and bought a nice lunch (which cost about twice as much as it would have outside the valley — a tourist trap in almost the truest sense of the term).

Wcześniej po górach chodziłąm pieszo i każdy kawałek asfaltu wywoływał u mnie niechęć. Zdecydowanie źle się chodzi po asfalcie. Szczególnie jeżeli to ma być parę kilometrów na zakończenie całodniowej wędrówki. Teraz trochę zmienił się mój punkt widzenia. Pierwszą połowę drogi - asfaltową - przemknęliśy błyskawicznie, po raz pierwszy ani jednego złego słowa na temat asfaltu w górach nie padło z moich ust. Później było zdecydowanie gorzej, wolniej a dla mnie trochę stresująco, bałam się o moją dentkę na tych wybojach ale moje plastry nie zawiodły.
