The lunch began around two thirty — the first of many meals.

To our surprise, Father Górecki came for lunch. He didn't eat ("I've already eaten!" he explained.), but drank some tea.

My father-in-law tried to get him to drink something a little stronger, but he politely refused. But Marcin, the photographer, caught the moment, resulting in the picture at left — undoubtedly one of the best of the day.

Part of the reason for his refusal would have been, undoubtedly, the fact that our wedding was in August, typically an alcohol-free month. (Which explains why so few weddings actually take place in August.)
