Months' of practice for naught   Saturday 14 August 2004  ][ Back ][ TOC ]

Kinga and I took dance lessons for about three months in preparation for the wedding. We learned all kinds of nifty moves:

  • Foxtrot
  • Viennese waltz
  • Tango
  • Jive
  • Cha-cha
  • Two-and-one
  • English waltz
  • Samba

To name a few.

We especially liked the slow, graceful English waltz, and we practiced it a good bit on our own so that we could look like dancing machines at our wedding. Prommandes, turns, hops, skips, jumps — we were all over that stuff.

Then Kinga found her dress. Or rather "Her Dress." Or maybe even "Her Dress." And it was cut so that she couldn't raise her arms above her head. And it turned out to be too bulky to do anything more than the basic steps in the English waltz.

Still, our basic box steps were dead on . . . and it was a beautiful dress.

Bez komentarza. Podobno było ładnie i to wystarczy. Taka suknia jest po to żeby siedzieć i ładnie wyglądać a nie jakieś tam wygibasy wyprawiać, to trochę nie na mój temperament ale raz w życiu mogłam pocierpieć.

After the dance, Kinga and I headed to the outdoor museum in Zubrzyca to have some portraits made while the guests rested up, danced a little, and prepared for the party ahead
